110+ Million Dates Strong: Celebrating Romance!

Love is in the air…once again! Feel the romance all month with exciting Valentine’s Day-themed events, rewards, and decorations adorning Hogwarts and the wizarding world in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery! 

What started back in 2019 as our most popular and most-requested seasonal event for Valentine’s Day, Dating, evolved into a permanent feature of the game. As of February 2021, we made this popular yearly social event official: players could go on dates with original characters of their choice, whenever they wanted. To date, players have gone on over 110 million dates!

Fast-forward to February 2025, and the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery game team is back at it with new Valentine’s Day events and rewards, including a tale of cursed love in the newest chapter of the Hogwarts Diary. There’s plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks, so let’s dive in!

Relationship Goals

Dating in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is all about exploring meaningful relationships at Hogwarts, enabling you to make choices that will shape your romantic journey and enhance your story. 

How does it work? Players accumulate “relationship levels” through their in-game actions, with high enough levels unlocking the ability to begin a relationship. Character relationships progress through different milestones, and different date activities and locations will unlock based on the relationship level. And as in real life, players also have the ability to go ‘exclusive’ with their love interest, or ‘break up’ if they aren’t feeling the sparks.

If you’ve graduated already and moved Beyond Hogwarts, start thinking of a romantic dating spot to take the latest romance option – Callum McClintock! Callum will be available to date just in time for Valentine’s Day. 

New Chapter of the Hogwarts Diary: A Curse of Loneliness

Starting February 5th, The Hogwarts Diary is back with a brand-new chapter, bringing exciting new updates – including more ways to earn Crystal Packs and improved rewards in the dupe shop!

In “Love and Happiness,” an ancient curse is plaguing the inhabitants of Hogwarts. As an unsettling wave of loneliness spreads through the halls of the castle, it’s up to you to uncover its source and put a stop to it and save your friends. In this captivating new adventure, you’ll work closely with some familiar faces—like Madam Pince, who needs your help to prevent a library disaster, and Professor Flitwick, who’s facing a Horklump crisis in Hagrid’s garden. But the mystery doesn’t stop there…

This journey is filled with heartache, howlers, and the magic of love!

New Magical Creature Adventure: The Moulting Malaclaw!

For our pet lovers, a new Magical Creature Special Adventure arrives soon that’s sure to test your care-taking skills. This time, Hagrid finds himself in a bit of a pinch… a Mackled Malaclaw pinch!

The Mackled Malaclaw, a recent addition to the Magical Creature Reserve, has been in a testy mood lately and is about to moult, and a misunderstanding with your Malaclaw led to Hagrid getting bitten! As you might know, a Malaclaw’s bite brings bad luck for up to a week—so, it’s up to you to calm this creature down and help Hagrid through some increasingly ridiculous situations!

AND keep your magical eye on the Open Ocean later this month. You never know what you may find…lurking in the depths!

Get “Wild at Heart” for Valentine’s Day!

It’s time for the big dance, and you’ll have to choose a partner to share this magical evening with. Who will you ask? Your best friend, someone you’ve been secretly crushing on, or perhaps someone unexpected – maybe even outside of your House? Meanwhile, Liz seems oddly excited about the dance, and there’s someone mysteriously peeking in on your date. Don’t miss an unforgettable night at Hogwarts!
