Giant Christmas trees? Check. Christmas outfits? Check. Special holiday Hogwarts gifts for all players? Check, check, check! Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is bringing its special magic to players this holiday season, beginning 1 December with festive Christmas decor strung throughout the wizarding world, new storylines and an unforgettable 12-day Countdown to Christmas event loaded with in-game presents!

Hogwarts Diary: Holiday Gift Conundrum!

This October, the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery development team rolled out a new narrative-focused feature – the Hogwarts Diary. Players are asked to unlock pieces of a puzzle by completing in-game activities and revealing scenes via magic inkwells that connect narrative moments to an overarching story over time. 

This month, the Hogwarts Diary reveals a new mystery – challenging players to gather a series of clues to discover who is responsible for sending a slew of very dangerous holiday gifts to the Hogwarts faculty. It’s up to you to stop Professor Snape from an accidental potion explosion, protect Madam Sprout from a Devil’s Snare tentacle in a box, and help other Professors and faculty members deal with the aftermath of receiving these “gifts.” It’s up to you to discover the culprit and set things right.

Countdown to Christmas with Hogwarts Mystery!

Beginning 14 December, the Countdown to Christmas begins! In this special event, check for daily in-game giveaways and follow our social channels to vote on your favourite outfit – which all players will receive on Christmas Day!

Aside from daily gifts, players can expect new holiday-themed events, special offers and rewards. Unwrap magical mysteries and fun all month long.

Spend Winter with the Weasleys!

All throughout the month, you’re invited to join the Weasley family for festive activities at The Burrow and even an icy dragon sanctuary! Fan-favourite events and holiday stories will make their annual return, made far more fun with everyone’s favourite wizarding family. 

On 18 December, take a winter break with the Weasley family in an all-new “Winter with the Weasleys” Special Adventure! When you learn Bill will be alone at The Burrow on Christmas, Charlie enlists your help alongside Hagrid, Penny and Professor Flitwick to plan the perfect holiday event. Do this, and earn a special gingerbread version of The Burrow!

Also, get a peek at Beyond Hogwarts with a Special Preview event. All players who have not yet graduated from Hogwarts will have the chance to opt-in and experience the “Weasley Family Vacation” Special Adventure – an event that was previously exclusive to Beyond Hogwarts players. Join the Weasley family in an epic winter holiday vacation (which you may remember Ron mentioning to Harry in their first year) to visit Charlie at the dragon sanctuary!
